Explore Our Nutrition Program

At Services Along the Nile International Ethiopia, our Nutrition Program aims to improve the nutritional status of vulnerable women, children, and households in Nono Woreda, Oromia Region. The program responds to chronic food insecurity, limited dietary diversity, and low awareness of nutrition and infant and young child feeding practices. Through community-based nutrition interventions, the program promotes healthier diets, improved feeding practices, and strengthened household food security.

Through knowledge, practice, and community ownership, the Nutrition Program contributes to healthier families, resilient communities, and improved child survival.

Community Engagement
Elders, women’s groups, health workers, and model families actively participate in planning and implementation to ensure culturally appropriate nutrition interventions.
Nutrition Education
The program promotes evidence-based nutrition practices, including maternal nutrition, infant and young child feeding, hygiene, and food preparation.
Practical Demonstration
Households engage in cooking demonstrations, nutrition education sessions, and home-based learning using locally available foods.
Integration and Learning
Continuous community feedback helps refine activities and strengthen behavior change at household level.
